Excelling at Pointing Out the Obvious

Hey guys, Pumpkin here. Welcome to the epic and ongoing saga depicting how multiple book/movie/TV series have managed to completely take over my life.

I wonder if they’ll ever make any holiday themed episodes. Imagine a Christmas episode. In the woods.

Yes. Imagine a Christmas episode where they reminisce and bond over the fact all their parents are gone - presumed dead or mutated into Kraang.

IMAGINE

Ok no that is absolutely NOT ok!

Compare the first episode of tmnt to the season 2 finale ಥ‿ಥ

…why did you have to say that?

Congrats on hitting puberty, Ed.

It’s so weird seeing these gifs because when you actually watch the show they do it so gradually that you barely even notice (at least I didn’t) but then you look at these and it’s like, whoaa. Even Winry has a completely different face, it’s not just Ed getting taller and more muscular.

Animation, you’re doing it right.

especially when you consider this happens in what, a year?  a year and a half?

This is actually one of the things I love most about FMA. They age so gradually, just like real people. A lot of times in anime and other animation, there’s not really a slow process of growing up; it’s just sort of, “Hey, look, she has curves now, and he’s way taller.”

"It’s gonna be alright."

So who enjoyed the season 2 finale? I know that I especially loved the part where my heart was torn from my chest and ripped to shreds. In all seriousness though, it was pretty fantastic.
Oh well. On to season 3!

temperamental-turtle:

"You-- You MONSTER!"

This moment is super important for two reasons.

Firstly, it emphasizes the whole parallel between the Shredder and Splinter and Raph and Leo. Raph’s looking at this horrible man who likely just killed his father, and he thinks monster, because it takes a special kind of terrible evil to do something like that, right? But, given the right circumstances, and if Raph relished and embraced his rage instead of trying to control it, could he turn into someone like the Shredder? If he pushed his brothers away for good, if he didn’t have his family the way he does, could he be like that, so vengeful, awful, obsessive over strength?

The answer is yes. Yes, he could.

(Shredder even talks about how “his rage makes him strong”, and all that. WHERE HAVE WE HEARD THAT BEFORE, FOLKS.)

Also, Raph may be the physical strength of the team, but Mikey? Mikey is the emotional strength. He’s their rock, so to speak. Besides him being their brother, it’s why the others need him— and it’s also why he and Raph are so close. Mikey is empathetic and sensitive, while Raph is not; Mikey can easily deal with, handle, and express emotions, while Raph has trouble. So it’s kind of like Mikey is there to do it for him, and he knows just what Raph needs at a time of such turmoil.

Arguably in this episode more than any other, Mikey and Raph’s relationship is shown in-depth. It’s really reminiscent of the comics, where Raph was closest to Mikey out of all his brothers, and I think it’s definitely true in this version, as well.
